Mark Caro’s Talking in Space...with Nora Dunn

DOORS: 6:30pm | SHOW: 7:30pm ABOUT THE SHOW Mark Caro continues his freewheeling on-stage conversation series with Saturday Night Live alum and Chicago native Nora Dunn. A comedic actress with a gift for drama, Nora will talk about her experiences on SNL—where she was a Sweeney Sister and talk show host Pat Stevens but drew the line over the anti-female humor of host Andrew Dice Clay—and her years acting in television (Sisters, The Nanny) and on film (Three Kings, Pineapple Express), as well as the creation of her one-woman show Mythical Proportions. Her love of the Cubs, Bears and Blackhawks may come up too, and Mark has more snacks to pass out. ABOUT NORA DUNN Nora Dunn plays a leading role as Selma Ally, a con artist and high school principal, in Six Foot Picture’s EMMETT, directed by Bridget Stokes. The film screens at the Newport Beach Film Festival April 2019, and opens in theaters in September. She has a leading role as Aunt Jean in the indie feature, THE LOST HUSBAND, directed by Vicky Wight, with Josh Duhamel, Leslie Bibb, and Isiah Whitlock.  She appeared last year in Ike Barinholz’s ensemble political satire, THE OATH.  Her TV credits include GRACE & FRANKIE, Comedy Central’s DETROITERS, a recurring character on GRAVES opposite Nick Nolte, three seasons in a major recurring role as Max Greenfield’s overbearing mother, Louise, on NEW GIRL and as Teresa, the Italian matriarch of Bobby’s family on the last season of TWO BROKE GIRLS.  Ms. Dunn also plays a recurring role as a psychiatrist/consultant on CHICAGO MED and CHICAGO PD. She played Ari’s therapist, Dr. Marcus, for five seasons on ENTOURAGE and arch villain Janet Smythe for one season on BEST FRIENDS FOREVER. She also played a regular role as openly gay TV producer, Norma Lear, on Sisters, with Swoosie Kurtz and Sela Ward. Other film credits include TAG, DUDE, and CANAL STREET. Dunn’s start was with Saturday Night Live for five seasons in the mid ‘80’s and she has worked with directors Mike Nichols, Nancy Myers, David O. Russell, Warren Beatty, Tom Shadyac, Gary Fleder, and David Gordon Green, appearing in strong supporting and featured roles in such films as Working Girl, Bruce Almighty, Pineapple Express, The Last Supper, Three Kings, Runaway Jury, It’s Complicated, Bulworth and Zoolander.  FAQs PLEASE CLICK HERE FOR A MORE DETAILED FAQ.  Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event? Unless otherwise indicated, all of our shows are all ages.
